Dubai runs on sunshine all year, but the experience changes a lot with the season. The right month depends on whether you want outdoor attractions at full swing, lower hotel rates, or a quieter city. Here is the year in three blocks.
November to March, the main season
This is Dubai at its best. Days sit in the mid twenties, evenings are cool, and every outdoor attraction is open, including Miracle Garden and Global Village. Desert evenings are pleasant and the sea is warm enough to swim. It is also the busiest and priciest window, so book tours and hotels early.
April, May and October, the shoulder months
Temperatures climb into the thirties, but rates drop and crowds thin out. Outdoor sights still work if you start early or go after sunset. Seasonal attractions may be closing or just reopening, so check dates if Miracle Garden or Global Village is on your list.
June to September, the hot season
Summer days pass 40 degrees and the city moves indoors. This is the time for malls, aquariums, indoor theme parks and evening city tours once the heat fades. Hotel deals are at their lowest. If you visit in summer, plan a private city tour with an air-conditioned vehicle, like our Abu Dhabi day trip, and keep outdoor stops short and early.
